Frequently Asked Questions

Are you licensed?

Yes, we are fully licensed to provide peace of mind to our clients.

Are you insured?

YES, we are fully insured to provide peace of mind to our clients.

Do you provide free estimates ?

Yes, any and all estimates provided by us are completely FREE.

Do I need permit(s) for my project?

YES, especially if your project is within city limits. One of the fastest ways to get your project shut down by code enforcement. Is letting code enforcement catch you (if your doing the work youself) or the company you hired working without the proper permit(s). Code enforcement will also hit you (if your doing the work youself) or the company you hired with a fine and your project will remain shut down untill the proper permit(s) are obtained. So its best to make sure to obtain the permit(s) and post them where they can be seen easly before any work begins.

How long does a typical project take to complete?

The duration of a project varies depending on the scope and complexity, but we always strive to complete projects efficiently while maintaining our high standards.

Can you provide references?

YES, we provide a list of references whenever our customers request them.

What is a general contractor?

A general contractor is the person responsible for providing all of the material, labor, equipment and services necessary for the construction of the project. A general contractor  often hires specialized subcontractors to perform all or portions of the construction work.

What are your business hours?

We are available Monday – Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am – 1:00pm. If a consultation needs to take place outside of regular business hours we can make adjustments. Also, depending on the remodeling job, in-home work hours may vary.

Who will manage my project? Will they be available to answer my questions? Will they be on the job site regularly?

Jeremiah "J.R." & Jason "Jay" will manage your project personally. J.R. serves as the general contractor/Carpenter/Owner on all jobs. Jay serves as the Sales Representative/Carpenter/Owner on all jobs. They accept a modest number of projects (less than 5) at any time in order to ensure you get the level of attention and service you deserve. They will be available to answer any questions you have and at least one of them will be onsite daily.

Who will take care of securing permits?

We will take care of securing permits.

Permit fee varies based on county jurisdiction and size of project.

What payment methods do you accept?

Ideal Construction L.L.C accepts cash and checks. We do not offer credit card payments because we believe it a disservice to our clients to have to pay additional service fees. Other payment types allows us to keep our prices direct without service charges.

secure all permits and matierals, manage crews, complete all construction and remove all debris. Some of our most frequent projects are:

-Deck Installation

-Gutter Replacement

When is the best time to remodel my home?

Home remodeling is performed on a year-round basis. The only seasonal affects we manage are:

-foundation concrete/masonry work would ideally be done when the earth is not frozen (January /February)

-removing the roof is beneficial to do the work when there is less rain and snow, which means summer and fall

-being without a place to cook during a kitchen remodel can mean scheduling at a time when homeowners can use their outdoor gas grill to cook their meals

Finally, serious weather conditions might slow work progress, but are manageable despite schedule setbacks.

What is the difference in a remodeler and a renovator?

The words “renovate”, and “remodel” are often used interchangeably. A renovation refers to restoring something to a previous state, while a remodel refers to creating something new. For the modern conveniences needed in home and business life today, you are likely undergoing a remodeling project.

How can I prepare my home for the project?

It will depend upon the scope of work. You will be instructed as to what exact steps you need to take throughout the process. But, generally speaking, you’ll want to clear out the area being worked on of all your personal belongings that can be removed easily.

I’ve heard stories of contractors leaving before the project was completed, will you stay until it’s completed?

We have never left a job unfinished! It is devastating for a homeowner! We have finished several unfinished jobs that were abandoned by others…you would be surprised at the company names! In the remodeling process you will have to get along and compromise. We know there is stress and anxiety and we do our best to keep the project on track and the homeowner informed.
